Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in a clinical setting and specialized clinical care to patients in a surgical setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and document patient’s medical history, physical assessment, Review of Symptoms, medications, and Consent for Care
  • Enter patient’s medical information in an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system
  • Take vital signs and administer local anesthesia and / or medication to patients
  • Discuss and explain examinations, treatments, and procedures to patients
  • Schedule patient surgeries, as needed
  • Prepare Operating Room and / or Clinic Rooms for patients
  • Ensure surgery unit is compliant with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
  • Assist Physician and / or Physician Assistant with surgical procedures, treatments, and examinations
  • Provide assistance or backup relief for Operating Room Technician, as needed
  • Provide post-op care / medications and review post-op instructions with surgical patients
  • Conduct drug inventories
  • Demonstrate positive attitude with team leadership qualities
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Education and / or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver License
  • 1 year experience as a CMA, LPN or medical assistant preferred
  • Dermatology experience preferred
  • Must be proficient using computer software and entering data

Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner, both verbal and written
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents pertaining to various medical, treatment, and surgical matters.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply medical or scientific logic to situations as needed.

Physical Demands

  • The duties of this position require the employee to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • The employee must be able to assist or fully lift patients to and from a wheelchair.

Work Location: In person

The Massage Therapist will apply a range of massage techniques involving hands and fingers to relieve pain in muscles, soft tissues, and other parts of the body.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company dress code policy
  • Consults with clients before massage to identify and evaluate areas requiring therapeutic treatment.
  • Consults with clients to assess their expectations, and asks questions related to pain or discomfort and to learn and/or update their medical histories as necessary and appropriate to the scope of treatment.
  • Performs requested or suggested massage techniques, that may include deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, Shiatsu, hot stone therapy, Thai massage, and/or sports massage.
  • Occasionally communicates with the patient throughout the massage to ensure comfort with pressure levels and techniques being applied.
  • Provides a relaxing environment for clients.
  • Demonstrates and educates clients on methods to soothe and strengthen targeted muscles and tissues at home.
  • Educates the guest on the benefits of the service preformed and recommends products for home use.
  • Work in other areas of the spa such as sales and/or reception during downtime as needed.
  • Keep the treatment room and spa clean and organized during downtime.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of massage therapy training program through an approved school required
  • Apprenticeship program may be considered
  • Active licensure by the State of Alabama required
  • Remains current on CE and training

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to perform no less than six (6) massages per day
  • The duties of this position require the employee to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.

Job Summary:

The Referral Coordinator 1, is responsible for coordinating the initial front-end appointments and correspondence with patients, internal/external providers, and insurance companies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Enter all referrals into the EMR system and track/record reports, as received.

· Respond to all internal/external physician requests and concerns regarding the status of patient referrals, care coordination and/or follow-up status.

· Generate complete and accurate new patient charts and update charts for existing patients, including patient demographics and current insurance information, including coordinating with the Medical Records clerk.

· Process all referrals via phone, fax, and web in a timely and professional manner.

· Confirm Insurance coverage via payer portals and EMR System to determine necessity of pre-authorizations.

· Schedule appointments within the required timeframe and review appointment information (date, time, location and provider name) with the patient.

· Provide cross-functional coverage with Medical Records.

· Perform other duties as assigned
